Dow Corning Corp.
Announces Price Increase on Certain Products
The Dow Corning Corp. of Midland, Mich., has announced a 3-percent increase on eight of its weatherproofing products for the construction industry. The company says the increase comes as a result of increased costs in raw materials and manufacturing and will affect building sealants and other high-performance materials for the building envelope market segment.
“Dow Corning has implemented a number of successful cost-containment programs in recent years that have resulted in major productivity gains and prevented the need for significant price escalation,” explained Duane Govitz, Dow Corning’s marketing manager. “Unfortunately, these have not been sufficient to fully offset the rising costs of source materials and products, requiring us to announce a modest price increase,” he said.
The following products are affected by the price increase: Dow Corning 123 Silicone Seal; Dow Corning 790 Silicone Building Sealant; Dow Corning 791 Silicone Weatherproofing Sealant; Dow Corning 795 Silicone Building Sealant; Dow Corning999A Building and Glazing Sealant; Dow Corning732 Multi-Purpose Sealant; Dow Corning736 Heat Resistant Sealant and Dow Corning AllGuard Silicone Elastomeric Coating.
