New Company Formed For the Import and Export of Glass Between
the U.S and South America
To service the glass needs between the United States and South America, a new company was established recently in MiamióInteramerican Glazing Group L.C.
Representing Kalciyan Glass Technology of Argentina, the companyís objective is importing and exporting flat glass, mirror, manufactured products, raw materials and other related products between the United States and South American Countries.
According to the company, this venture represents a broad commercial business and will allow other companies in the region to operate in the same manner.
Products available include tempered glass, heat-treated glass, insulating glass, laminated glass, anti-hurricane laminated glass, patterned glass, sandblasted glass, spandrel, silk-screened glass, mirror, security mirror, reflective glass and low-E glass.
Mexicoís Vitro Buys Large Stake in Portugalís Chaves
Mexican glassmaker Vitro SA has purchased a 60-percent stake in Portugalís Vidraria Chaves for $3 million. The purchase was made through Cristalglass, a Spanish flat glassmaker in which Vitro holds a 60-percent stake.
According to Vitro, it expects the Chaves purchase to further expand its sales of laminated and duovent glass in Europe. The company currently holds a 35-percent market share in Spain.
