Anything but Ordinary
Announcing the First Annual
USGlass Magazine “Innovations in Glass Awards”
If you’ve worked on a unique project recently that you feel deserves some recognition, here’s your chance to show it off—the
USGlass First Annual Glass Innovation Awards.
We’re looking for projects that have taken glass to the next level: think innovation, think design challenge, think anything but ordinary.
Judges, judging criteria and an entry form are listed here. Waste no time in showing us what you can do. Send in your forms, a brief description of the project (no more than 100 words) at least three photos of the project that illustrate various portions of the building and your $35 entry fee (to cover shipping costs) by October 1, 2003. Winners will be announced in the December issue.
Judges
Greg Carney, the Glass Association of North America;
Don Haley, Haley-Greer;
Glenn Heitmann, Heitmann and Associates; and
Kirk Osgood, Curtain Wall Design and Consulting.
Judging criteria:
• Amount of glass used;
• How the glass complements the overall scope of the project;
• Complexity of design;
• Innovation of the design;
• Installation challenges;
• Use of glass as innovation in design;
• Projects must have been completed since January 2002.
The winning project receives:
• An engraved glass award;
• Press releases issued to pertinent media;
• Bragging rights for the next year;
• Recognition in the December 2003 USGlass; and
• Will be featured on the cover of the December 2003 USGlass.
Two honorable mentions will also be recognized in the December 2003 USGlass.
