Alumax Announces Sales Team Additions and Promotions
Alumax Bath Enclosures has announced several new additions and promotions within its sales team. Following are new members of the sales team and their territories:

Heidi Hilleman: Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota, Iowa, South Dakota and Illinois;
Greg Kovacs: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming;
Terry Walters: Alabama, Georgia and parts of Kentucky and South Carolina.

In addition, Sam Bodenbender, who joined Alumax in 1999, is now covering Northern California and Nevada. Jake Hall has been promoted to the role of sales representative in North Texas and Oklahoma. Adam Herrera has been promoted to sales representative for Southern California, previously serving as an assistant manager. Chad Williams is the sales representative for Florida and the Caribbean and previously was in Kansas City. 

Schneider National Announces New General Manager
Schneider National Inc. has announced that Barbara Milligan Vitchus has joined the company as the general manager of its wholly owned subsidiary, Schneider Specialized Carriers. She will have full accountability for the operations, performance and long-term positioning of this segment.

Vitchus previously worked for CSU Transport Inc. as the chief financial officer.

“Barbara has a long history of transportation industry experience and an outstanding record of success in leading finance, labor relations and contract negotiation, as well as raising capital and growing new business,” said Scott Arves, Schneider National president of transportation. “Barbara is poised to lead Schneider Specialized Carriers to future success by creating customer excitement in the glass industry.”

Jim Blevins Passes Away
Jim Blevins, a 42-year veteran of the glass and aluminum industry, passed away Monday January 12, after complications from cardiac surgery.

Blevins was 61 and began work with Amarlite in 1961, and stayed with company after it was acquired by Arch Aluminum & Glass. He was known for his love of Cleveland, his sense of humor and his vast knowledge of Amarlite material.

“We, and our industry, lost an incredible person in Jim,” said Leon Silverstein, Arch president and chief executive officer. “He will be sorely missed.”

Arch Announces Hiring of Alan Gottesman
Alan Gottesman recently joined Arch Mirror West (formerly Bay Mirror). He will be supervising sales and marketing. Previously, Gottesman served as the Western regional vice president for Sommer & Maca. 
He has 25 years of glass industry experience.

“With his experience and background, Alan no doubt will have a positive impact on our mirror market in the West,” said Steve Perilstein, Arch national sales manager.

Gottesman graduated from Penn State University and served in the U.S. Army. He has a California teaching credential in sales and marketing.

Mark Burke Promoted at Vitro America
Mark Burke, former president and chief executive officer for Vitro America, has been promoted to the position of chairman of the board. 

Luis Gonzalez Sada has been promoted to the position of president and chief executive officer. Previously, he served as logistics and operations control director for Gruppo Vitro. 

Harmon Announces Three New Hires
Harmon Inc. has hired Brian Rathke as a senior project manager and Hans-Dieter Abramat as a project executive. Both are based out of the company’s Golden Valley, Minn., headquarters.

Rathke has more than a decade of experience in construction project management. He previously worked for John B. Goodman Limited Partnership in Chaska, Minn., where he managed development, plans, budgets, designs and construction for properties owned by the Goodman Group.

Abramat has 27 years experience in the glazing industry. He was employed most recently as an estimating manager for Glassalum International Corp., where he focused primarily on custom, high-rise, unitized curtainwall projects.
In addition, Harmon has hired Tiffany Kramlich as human resources (HR) manager.

Prior to joining Harmon, Kramlich worked with the company on a contract basis. She is now responsible for staffing, salary administration, training, employee relations, HR policies and information systems and managing the HR department. 

She has a master’s degree form the University of Saint Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin.

CRL Announces New Project Manager
C.R. Laurence Co. Inc. (CRL) has announced it has hired Chris Hanstad as a project manager at its Los Angeles headquarters. He will be concentrating on the company’s line of architectural hardware. 

Prior to joining CRL, Hanstad was an architectural designer with Grand View Glass and Metal of Ontario, Calif.
“Chris comes to us with plenty of talent and experience in the industry,” said Donald Friese, president and chief executive officer. “We’re pleased to have him on board. As project manager, Chris will be working on creating and designing new products, especially for our architectural hardware line.”

Morse Industries Announces New Hires
Morse Industries of Kent, Wash., has announced two new employees.

Daniel Smith has joined the company as an account executive for the Southwest United States. He has experience in sales management, operations and facility management. 

Also new at Morse is Mike Gringle, who has joined as an account executive for Northern California. Prior to joining Morse, Gringle held a variety of sales and marketing positions.

USGlass Marketing Director Weds

Holly Xylina Carter, marketing director for Key Communications Inc., publisher of USGlass magazine, wed Thomas Biller on November 29, 2003. The ceremony and reception were held at the Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church in Virginia. The couple resides in Fredericksburg, Va.

The groom is a professional firefighter with Fairfax County, Va. The bride also serves as publisher of Key’s magazine Plastics Fabricating & Forming.
