GANA Releases Roll Wave Test Method
The tempering division of the Glass Association of North America (GANA) has announced the release of Specification No. TD 04-03-26, Standard Test Method for In-Plant Measurement of Roll Wave in Heat-Treated Architectural Glass. The tempering division’s roll wave subcommittee, chaired by Ren Bartoe of Vesuvius McDanel, developed the standard.
“It is with a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction that we have released this GANA test method,” said Bartoe. “The subcommittee has dedicated years of qualification, development and validation to complete this document and we look forward to its implementation in our industry.”
The scope of the test method is as follows:
“This test method covers the determination of the out-of-plane deformation (herein referred to as peak-to-valley depth) and peak-to-peak distances for roll waves in heat-strengthened and fully tempered architectural glass substrates processed in a heat-processing continuous or oscillating conveyance oven.”
The test method, available in hard copy or PDF format, is free to GANA members and $25 for non-members.
