Fifth Generation Joins Thad Ziegler Glass 
Thad W. Ziegler, president of Thad Ziegler Glass Ltd. in San Antonio, has announced the appointment of his son, William Ziegler, as contract salesman and project coordinator in the contract department. William Ziegler’s appointment represents the fifth generation of the Ziegler family to work for the company.

Ziegler graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a liberal arts degree in economics. 

Apogee Elects Davis to Board of Directors
Minneapolis-based Apogee Enterprises Inc. has elected Jerome L. Davis to its board of directors. 
Davis is vice president, service excellence at EDS, an independent business and technology solutions company based in Plano, Texas. He is responsible for global client executive performance across all EDS operating units.

Paul Bratz Promoted as Linetec’s Anodize Plant Manager
Linetec, of Wausau, Wis., has announced the promotion of Paul Bratz as its anodize plant manager and Bob Gebert as plastics and wood finishing plant manger. Both Bratz and Gebert are trained as Six Sigma Black Belts and will help drive the company’s focus on continuous improvement, optimization and long-term growth.

Bratz most recently served as the company’s quality assurance manager and Six Sigma champion. Gebert continues in his role as purchasing manager, adding the responsibilities of plant manager for the plastics and wood finishing facility.

Harmon Promotes Pichman; Hires Shaw as Sales Rep
Harmon Inc. has announced the promotion of Tom Pichman as its national superintendent. He will be responsible for growing and supporting the labor workforce in all company locations.

Pichman has been with Harmon for nearly 20 years, beginning as an ironworker in 1986. He most recently served as general manager for the company’s Service Glass office in Chicago. He has a degree in business administration from the University of Illinois and he is also a member of the International Association of Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers.

Harmon has also hired Timothy Shaw as a sales representative for its office in Lithia Springs, Ga. Shaw joins Harmon from Nelson-Brantley Glass Contractors in Birmingham, Ala., where he worked as vice president of the company’s commercial construction contract division. Prior to that, Shaw was employed with Masonry Arts Inc. He has a bachelor’s degree in building science from Auburn University in Alabama.

Hardt and Ferek Join Arch Aluminum & Glass
Arch Aluminum & Glass of Tamarac, Fla., has announced the addition of Ron Hardt and Bobbie Ferek to its operation in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Hardt will take over the post of branch manager with Ferek assuming the position of sales manager. Both bring extensive experience to Arch after several years at UGC’s Pittsburgh affiliate. 

“I’ve worked with both Ron and Bobbie and hold them in the highest regard,” said Arch national sales manager Steve Perilstein. “They are hardworking, well-liked, classy individuals who will fit nicely into an already solid core of people.”

David Grant Joins O’Keeffe’s
David Grant has joined the Merced, Calif., operations of SAFTI/O’Keeffe’s as plant manager.

“David brings more than 25 years of manufacturing experience to our company, 16 of those years in supervisory and management positions, and is known for thinking outside the box,” said Bill O’Keeffe, president. “He’ll be able to apply his experience and innovative approach to improving our manufacturing and inventory processes and increasing profitability. We’re very excited to have him with us.”

Benjamin Bovee Named New Staff Engineer at Heitmann & Associates
Heitmann & Associates of St. Louis has announced the hiring of Benjamin Bovee as a staff engineer.
Bovee has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering and a minor in mathematics from Southern Illinois University. He most recently worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation as a structural and highway designer.
