Vistawall Parent Company Announces Employee
Stock Ownership Plan
BlueScope Steel Ltd., of Melbourne, Australia, the new parent company of Terrell, Texas-based The Vistawall Group, has announced that it is offering 150 shares of stock to each of its employees under a new employee share ownership plan. Employees will not be required to pay for the stock.
“The 2004 fiscal year looks to be another good year for BlueScope Steel, and the ownership plan provides an opportunity for our employees to share in the company’s success,” said Lance Hockridge, president of BlueScope’s North American business. “It is our way to say thanks to everyone for a great year. Approximately 2.4 million shares are being offered to 16,000 eligible employees across our global workforce.”
According to Tom Harris, president of the Vistawall Group, the employee share ownership plan is indicative of the strength of BlueScope Steel and the opportunities the company offers its employees.
“We continue to be excited about a parent company that is capable and willing to invest in the future growth of The Vistawall Group,” he said.
Vroom! Glass TEXpo™ to Feature Full-Scale NASCAR Race Car
NASCAR aficionados will be able to feed their avocation up close and personal at Glass TEXpo. In the spirit of “everything is bigger in Texas,” a full-scale ARCA (the minor league of NASCAR) racecar will be displayed on the show floor during Glass TEXpo 2004, which will take place October 1 and 2. Any race fan is sure to appreciate the opportunity to get a close and personal look and feel of a genuine racing machine.
The car will be centrally located next to the Texas Glass Association’s (TGA) booth and can be viewed during the show hours, Friday, October 1 from 2 - 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 2 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Donny Kelley, of Porter Glass Mirror, car owner and driver will also be on hand with his son Brandon to answer questions from all race fans.
Kelley and his son are currently in the process of completing the required amount of ARCA races to become licensed for the NEXTEL Cup, Busch or Craftsman Truck Series qualification.
Another part of the qualification is the car itself. The car that will be on display is their current and only racecar, which is a full-scale Monte Carlo with a five-star chassis and body. They are presently considering a new paint scheme in the colors of purple and yellow. With the new paint scheme comes more opportunities for new sponsors and advertisers. If you are a true race fan, this is a time you are sure to enjoy.

Key Communications to Manage IGA Show
The Independent Glass Association (IGA) has announced that an expanded version of its Independents’ Days conference and Spring Glass Show will take place February 24-26, 2004, in Orlando, Fla. The association has hired Key Communications Inc., publishers of USGlass, AGRR and Window Film magazines, among others, to manage and plan the event.
“We are planning on expanding the event and turning it into the spring event for the glass industry,” said IGA’s Sue Johnson. “The event will have an expanded seminar track, featuring seminars for both auto and flat glass companies, and a first-class exhibition. We are excited to be gearing up for what looks to be IGA’s best event ever.”

Oldcastle Glass Reveals Redesigned Website
Oldcastle Glass, a subsidiary of Dublin, Ireland-based CRH plc, has designed its new website, www.oldcastleglass.com, to function as an all-in-one resource for architects. Features include downloadable specifications in multiple document formats, downloadable CAD details and a tool for calculating performance data for all products. For architects working on LEEDS certifications, the new website offers a site locator to help identify plants within 500 miles of a project. Detailed exploration of Oldcastle’s projects is also included.
“One of our objectives in designing a new online resource for the architectural glass industry was to clearly define who we are and what we do and present it in a user-friendly way,” said Ted Hathaway, chief executive officer.
Shat-R-Proof Corp. Announces Move
Shat-R-Proof Corp. has announced a move into new corporate headquarters located in Savage, Minn., as of July 1, 2004. According to the company, the move has allowed for more efficient office space and greater manufacturing flexibility in the production of SRP products, including surface restoration products, adhesives and plastic polishes. The new headquarters is centrally located and now near both Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.
