New Hires
Vetrotech Saint-Gobain Announces New Staff Members
Vetrotech Saint-Gobain of Auburn, Wash., has announced the hiring of three new employees.

Brigitte Ross will serve as the new office manager and will oversee the internal office operations, processing of quotes, orders and invoices and communications with other Saint-Gobain factories around the world.
Jerry Jackson is new to the company’s sales department. He has experience in the door and framing areas. Scott Rutledge is taking over the full-time responsibility for advertising and marketing. His duties will include coordinating trade shows, advertising, marketing activities and promotional materials.

Promotions
Republic Windows Promotes Zimmerman as VP of Marketing
Republic Windows and Doors based in Chicago has announced the promotion of Amy Zimmerman as vice president of marketing. Previously she served as director of marketing.
Zimmerman has a master’s degree in advertising from Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism and a bachelors in journalism from Indiana University. She has been with Republic since 1992.

Harmon Announces Promotions
Harmon Inc. of Minneapolis has promoted Marsh Lindell to training manager. In this new position, Lindell will have a lead role in developing, coordinating and facilitating training programs and services, helping Harmon employees achieve their career growth and leadership objectives and supporting corporate goals and strategies such as Lean/Six Sigma. 

In addition, Dan Augustine has been promoted from sales representative to senior sales representative. Having been in the commercial glazing industry for 37 years, Augustine joined Harmon in 2000 and has represented the company as a member of the Building Owners & Managers Association of Greater Cleveland.
Ted Butler has been promoted to project manager. Butler’s professional background comprises 16 years with his family’s Ohio-based company where his roles included glazing window systems and entrances, installing and servicing Stanley automatic doors, estimating and managing projects.

Promoted to project manager from project coordinator, Shawn Grams joined Harmon in 2002 after graduating from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in building construction management.

Robert Rykena has also been named as a project manager. For the past nine years he has worked with a glazing contractor as a draftsman, project manager and estimator. 

UGC Announces Several Appointments
United Glass Corp. (UGC) of Louisville, Ky., has announced the appointment of Robert T. Cummings as vice president of sales. In this newly-created position, Cummings will be responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing efforts of all UGC facilities. He will also coordinate the efforts of the inside sales team.
In addition, UGC has hired Randy Dornburgh and Scott Ogle as sales representatives to cover Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Together they have 20 years of combined industry experience in glass, glazing, fabrication and manufacturing.
Albert Young was also promoted recently to outside sales representative covering Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Eastern Ohio. He had been with PDC Glass and Metal Services for ten years as a customer service representative, inside sales manager and project manager.

Glen Morrison Named President of Kawneer North America
Kawneer North America, a division of Alcoa Building and Construction Systems, has announced the appointment of Glen Morrison as president. Morrison has been involved with Kawneer’s businesses in Europe and most recently served as president of Alcoa Architectural Products and director of the commercial organization for the architectural systems business. In his new role Morrison will lead all operations for Kawneer North America.

“Being at the helm of a market leader is exciting,” said Morrison. “Kawneer is a great brand with a long history in the marketplace. I’m especially looking forward to working together with our customers to drive our mutual success—to bring even better products, services and support going forward.”

Holbrooks Household Increases by One
Ken Holbrook of Columbia Commercial and his wife Summer welcomed a son, Haden, on September 10, 2004.
