Lupus Capital to Acquire Schlegel Building Products

Greg Hutchings, chairperson of Lupus Capital, announced on March 3 that his company has agreed to acquire Schlegel Building Products from Unipoly.

“We are very excited about the progress we are making,” said Hutchings. “The acquisition of Schlegel, an international building products manufacturer, is yet another step in creating a successful growing international business in line with our strategy of developing Lupus Capital PLC.”

Chief executive officer Ian Pawson will continue to run Schlegel Building Products.

“The existing business has a strong brand and good market position that we will seek to build on,” said Pawson. “We will look to increase sales to existing customers, exploit new market segment opportunities and invest in new product opportunities. Schlegel is the foundation of a substantial new building products group.”

Indalex and Aluar Sign Supply Agreement

Indalex Inc. has signed a three-year agreement with Aluar Aluminio Argentino S.A.I.C. (Aluar) to supply extruded aluminum components for the North American market.

The companies will work together to identify high-value extruded shapes to ensure a fit between market demand and Aluar capabilities. Indalex anticipates that supply from Aluar will attain a limited volume [compared to North America] over the life of the agreement.

Indalex will provide Aluar with technical assistance to improve manufacturing processes in its Abasto extrusion operation, and Aluar will become a non-exclusive, offshore supply source of Indalex.
