You may think you’ve got competitive prices, but do you really know what your competitors are charging for the replacement of a large picture window?
USGlass randomly called glass shops in Miami, Cincinnati and Phoenix to research the price to replace a 71 5/8-inch by 47 5/8-inch insulating glass unit with 3/4-inch overall thickness and double-strength glass.
The prices varied among the regions, but Miami had both the highest quote at $599 and the lowest quote at $345.
The variance in quoted prices was astonishing, which leads one to wonder: do these prices reflect a variance in the actual cost of the window and service, or does it show a difference in the way companies generate quotes on the phone? The true test would be to compare final prices after installation is complete.
Take a look at what shops say they are charging and see how your prices compare.
