Kitterman Appointed President of AFG
Brad Kitterman has been appointed president and chief executive officer of AFG Industries Inc. Kitterman’s introduction followed the retirement of John Litzinger who joined AFG 28 years ago and assumed the presidency in 2003. Litzinger, who retired for personal reasons, led the company through a series of strategic changes based upon a vision of customer-oriented, profitable growth.
Kitterman has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and has held various senior management positions with LogicaCMG, Walter Industries and Schlumberger Limited.
Vos Glass Announces New Leadership Structure
The late Clarence “Jake” Vos founded Vos Glass as a company that would provide professional glazing services to western Michigan. Now approaching its 25th year, Vos Glass has announced new responsibilities for four key employees.
Tom Johnson, who has been with the company for three years, will enter into the new position as director of business development. He will provide consultation, recommendations, cost analysis, budgeting and value-engineered services to architects, contractors and customers.
Ken Graham will fill the new position of director of project management. He will both manage the largest of Vos glazing projects, as well as oversee other project managers.
Kim Hunt will transfer from customer service representative to project manager. Hunt has been with the company since early 2003.
Mike Mead has held various positions with the company since 1996, and will also be a project manager.
DENSO Sales Names New Senior Manager
DENSO Sales California Inc. of Long Beach, Calif., has appointed Mike McConnell as its senior manager of corporate services.
McConnell will direct the human resources, finance and accounting, business planning and corporate administration departments. He will work closely with the sales, technical service, aftermarket planning and material control groups to establish annual profitability objectives, and will help create strategies to achieve them.
Prior to joining the company, McConnell acted as financial controller of Teletrac Inc. and spent more than ten years as the chief financial officer of Kenwood Americas Corp.
Lancaster Appointed VP and GM at UGC
United Glass Corp. (UGC) has appointed Kenneth L. Lancaster as vice president and general manager of PDC Glass and Metal Services in Cheswick, Pa., and PDC Glass of Michigan in Plymouth, Mich.
In his new role, Lancaster will report to Larry O’Connell, chairperson and chief executive officer.
Prior to joining UGC, Lancaster was employed with Viracon where he served as director of manufacturing for six years.
PPG Names Sinetar Vice President, Architectural Coatings
Scott Sinetar has been named vice president of architectural coatings, North America for PPG Industries. He previously served PPG as general manager of sales and marketing. Sinetar replaces Richard A. Beuke, who was named to the new position of vice president of growth initiatives.
Additionally, Andrew G. Maguire, general manager, corporate marketing and communications, has been appointed general manager of
marketing for the architectural coatings business.
Additionally, the PPG Performance Glazings division has appointed Darijo Babic, Bill Myers and Leonard Skelton as national architectural managers. The three will lead promotional efforts in their individual territories and assist architects in the selection and
specification of PPG glass, coatings and paint products represented under the PPG IdeaScapes™ banner.
Indalex Promotes Four Executives
Indalex Aluminum Solutions has named Jerry Nies senior vice-president of customer fulfillment and continuous improvement and promoted Paul Mitro to vice president and general manager of Indalex International.
Nies, previously vice president of operations, will be responsible for the customer service, production planning, logistics, technical services and engineering services functions of the company’s North American manufacturing facilities as well as the operations of Indalex International, the company’s offshore sourcing option.
Mitro, previously vice president of sales, will assume added responsibilities for manufacturing-related operations in North America and China.
The company has also appointed Keith Burlingame to the position of senior vice president of sales and Joe Valvo to the position of senior vice president of national accounts.
Burlingame joined Indalex from Easco Aluminum when it was acquired by Indalex in 1999. He held a series of progressively senior roles in sales and marketing prior to his new appointment.
Valvo also joined Indalex as a result of the Easco Aluminum acquisition. He has worked in a variety of senior sales positions prior to this appointment, and he is located at the company’s Girard, Ohio, facility.
FGLC Executive Director Retires
The Flat Glass Logistics Council (FGLC) has selected Dr. Karl B. Manrodt as its new executive director. Manrodt will replace Dr. Frank Davis, the founding executive director of the association, who recently retired.
Manrodt serves as an associate professor in the department of management, marketing and logistics at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.
New Employee Hired at ASC
The Association Services Corp. (ASC), the management company for the Glass Association of North America, as well as several other industry trade organizations, has hired Sara A. Neiswanger as its new executive assistant. Neiswanger recently received her business degree with an emphasis in marketing and management from Washburn University in Topeka, Kan.
Insula-Dome Skylights Promotes Chuck Wesche
Insula-Dome Skylights has promoted Chuck Wesche to director of customer support and logistics. He will oversee the in-house customer support team, technical inquiries and all aspects of order handling from production to shipping in both the New York and Connecticut facilities.
Wesche joined the company in 1980 as a shop worker. He later became involved in various operations including delivery, order processing and onsite customer relations
before he was promoted to regional sales manager, than technical sales manager.
Lyons Joins FTI as Int’l. Sales Manager
Film Technologies International Inc. (FTI) of St. Petersburg, Fla., has named Michael Lyons its new international sales manager.
Over his 20-year career, Lyons has performed in a variety of sales and marketing operations and business management positions. Prior to joining the company, he was director of international sales for Bekaert Specialty Films
DAC Products Announces New Inside Sales Hire
DAC Products, a Rural Hall, N.C.-based manufacturer of sample and display selling tools for the door and window industry, has announced that Wendy Weatherington has joined the company as inside sales and customer relations manager.
She is the main point of contact for DAC’s existing customer base, and also on new potential accounts. Weatherington was previously with Media Display Inc., a Raleigh, N.C.-based advertising firm. She attended East Carolina University and is a graduate of Meredith College.
Jared Kirkpatrick Named Naturalite Western Regional Sales Manager
Naturalite Skylight Systems of Terrell, Texas, has named Jared Kirkpatrick its new western regional sales manager.
Previously, Kirkpatrick served as a sales manager at another skylight company. He has more than eight years experience in the skylight industry.
In his new position he will be responsible for sales and marketing of Naturalite’s custom and standard skylights in the central and western United States.
He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas.
Lloyd W. Talbert Appointed President and COO of CRL
C.R. Laurence Co. Inc. (CRL) of Los Angeles has appointed Lloyd W. Talbert as its new president and chief operating officer (COO). He has served the company for more than 15 years, most recently as executive vice president. Donald E. Friese will remain as chairperson of the board and chief executive officer.
Friese says he plans to help Talbert in his new position and the two will work together to continue to grow the company.
Virginia Hubert Joins Solvay America Inc.
Virginia Hubert has been named vice president of health, safety and environmental affairs, Responsible Care® for Solvay America Inc., headquartered in Houston. She succeeds Michael Nevill, who has retired.
Most recently, she served as vice president health, safety and environment at Solvay Solexis Inc. in Thorofare, N.J.
Hubert holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in environmental engineering, both from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. She is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.
DORMA Architectural Hardware Hires George Nimee
George S. Nimee has joined DORMA Architectural Hardware as manager of product training in both the Eastern and Western regions.
Nimee will continue the development, refinement and expansion of training programs for distributors, architects and end users, and will also develop selling tools and related support programs for customers.
Before joining the company, Nimee worked in design, special application engineering, training and training management at several large companies, holding such positions as senior training manager and product trainer.
New Account Management at ADCO Products Inc.
Justin McClain has been added to ADCO Products Inc.’s assembly, construction and distribution sales group as the national accounts
McClain holds a bachelor’s of science degree in polymers and coatings from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
The company has also added James “Les” Kimley as the southeast region account manager for its assembly, construction and distribution sales group.
Kimley has many years of adhesive and sealant sales experience and holds a degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Greg Stewart is the new western region account manager and Christian Cole is the northeast region account manager in the assembly, construction and distribution group.
