GPD Prepares for 10th anniversary in 2007
Organizers of Glass Processing Days (GPD), a leading professional glass conference, say 2007 is a special year, as June 15-18, 2007 will mark the tenth GPD conference, taking place in Tampere, Finland.
The conference has attracted an increasing number of professional participants representing top decision-makers from the different interest categories of the glass business, according to event organizers, and the combination of architectural and automotive issues has brought important cross-fertilization to the event, while cost-efficiency achieved through the well-designed schedule and effective use of executive time has contributed to its popularity, as well.
The 2005 event attracted approximately 850 participants and more than 200 lecturers, while more than 300 professionals attended 16 different workshops. Also, a special product and poster exhibition attracted 35 exhibitors from 11 countries.
“We expect to see the same impressive numbers and quality attendance in 2007,” said Jorma Vitkala, chairperson of the organizing committee. “Following feedback from participants, we have further increased the number of practical case studies.
After the 2005 conference, over 80 percent of participants expected that they would contact exhibitors and recommend the GPD to their colleagues. This is a good sign,” Vitkala said.
