AAMA Holds Summer Meeting in Huntington Beach
The AAMA research committee of the board of directors heard a proposal for a method of gathering information toward the development of a full-scale simulator that would test how buildings react to water intrusion during hurricanes.
The proposal for the committee was to mount an instrument for measuring and documenting the water on current University of Florida instrumentation to be put in the path of the hurricane. According to the AAMA members, this would be a unique project, since this type of research has not been done at low altitude. Data collected about the water would be used to create the full-scale simulator. www.aamanet.org
