appointments Rapp served as president of Cardinal IG Co. and vice president of Cardinal Glass Industries until 2006. His experience with Cardinal spanned 27 years. Prior to his tenure there, he served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1968 to 1972 and also with PPG for five years. Rapp is a member of the University of Missouri at Rolla’s Academy of Chemical Engineering and was awarded a professional degree by UMR’s Department of Chemical Engineering. He also has been actively involved with various glass industry associations including having served as president of SIGMA (now IGMA) and as a member of the WDMA board of directors. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Rolla and has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering. In addition, AFG appointed Ryan Cooper as sales representative for the commercial fabrication group in the province of Saskatchewan. Cooper will be replacing long-time AFG sales representative George Coulling, who retired on January 12. Cooper will be based in the city of Saskatoon, while representing the Regina plant location. Vitro America Adds Three New Reps Bobby Maciejewski, Jr. is the new Binswanger Mirror representative for southern New Jersey, Philadelphia and parts of Maryland. He will also handle The Classic Line for the ACI fabrication division. He comes to Binswanger Mirror and ACI with more than 21 years in the glass and metal industry. Sanford Sachtleben now represents Bins-wanger Mirror and ACI Distribution for parts of Missouri, Des Moines Iowa and Southern Illinois. Sachtleben has 25 years of experience in the glass industry and has been an independent rep since 1990. promotions Technoform Names John Cari I-Strut™ Division General Manager Cari held a number of top positions in and out of the North American fenestration industry, most recently as president of Ashland Products (now Ashland Hardware Systems). He holds a bachelors of science degree in management from Lewis University in Lockport, Ill. Cari will split his time between Technoform’s I-Strut design center in Johnson City, Tenn., and the manufacturing facility in Twinsburg. Sheffield Plastics Appoints Wiecking Architectural Market Manager Wiecking has more than 30 years of experience with polycarbonate sheet in architectural applications and is an active member of the Glass Association of North America’s laminating division. Viracon Promotes Four Effertz was promoted to director of international sales. In this role, he will have international sales responsibilities that includes Canada. Effertz has been with Viracon for seven years in sales and sales management roles. Previously, he was an international sales business development manager for Viracon. McDermott has been promoted to director of sales for the Southeast region. He will have sales responsibilities from Indiana to Louisiana and from Virginia to Florida. McDermott has been with the company for eight years serving in a number of positions, most recently as customer service manager. Louks was promoted to quality assurance manager for the Owatonna, Minn., facility. Prior to his promotion, Louks, who has been with Viracon for 20 years, served as a quality assurance supervisor. He is a certified quality auditor through the American Society for Quality. H.B. Fuller Appoints New CFO “We would like to thank John for his dedication to the financial success of H.B.
