"Looking Glass" Sales Look Good
This month USGlass asked glass shop owners to take a look in the mirror; or, rather, at their mirror prices. We asked shop owners in Tampa, Fla.; Dallas, Texas; and Sacramento, Calif., for the price of a 42- by 32-inch bathroom mirror, and got prices for both a polished edge and a 1-inch
bevel.
Not all of the shops we called offered beveling, but that didn’t stop them from trying to help. One California woman confessed her shop didn’t bevel mirrors—but still explained how much the charges usually ran and offered a rough calculation for the cost of beveling in order to help us with our estimate. A shop in Florida that didn’t offer beveling quickly recommended another local shop as offering the best deal on a beveled edge, without even a pause to look up their number. That shop didn’t offer the lowest price, but after a recommendation like that, we couldn’t help but assume they offer a quality product.
