Former Prime Minister of Finland to Speak at GPD
Organizers of Glass Processing Days (GPD) announced that former Finnish Prime Minister Esko Aho will deliver the plenary speech at this year’s conference in June. Aho will share his views on Finnish and European competitiveness during the address on Saturday, June 16, 2007. Aho is currently president of the Finnish National Fund for Research and Development (Sitra), which is dedicated to funding national innovations and technology.

Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Host Glass Expo Midwest™ 2007 
Glass Expo Midwest™ 2007 will be held October 9 -10, 2007, at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, Mich. This is the second time in its history the event will be held in Grand Rapids.

Co-sponsored by the Detroit Glass Dealers Association; the Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois Glazing Associations; Iowa and Wisconsin Glass Associations; the Association of Glazing Contractors; and USGlass magazine, Glass Expo Midwest typically attracts between 800-1,200 attendees depending on the location in which it is held. The only event dedicated to the Midwestern auto and flat glass industry, it will feature two and one-half days of exhibitions and educational seminars, a tour of Tubelite and a cocktail party, sponsored by Gunther Mirror Mastics, on Tuesday, October 9.
