NewsMakers kudos Sussman started out in the industry in the 1940’s as an apprentice to his father, Isadore, who was a master blacksmith from Poland. Sussman went to school at night and learned welding and other metalworking skills, and soon turned the family blacksmith shop into a 20th century metalworking shop. In the 1950’s Sussman began to design aluminum extrusions specifically for stained glass windows. According to information from the company, he discovered a way to produce a better window for less money. J. Sussman became a leading church window manufacturer in the country, the company says, and his church window designs became the standard of the industry. He designed and marketed aluminum extrusions to be sold as stock lengths, thereby creating a segment of the market devoted to protecting existing stained glass windows. In the 1980’s Sussman designed a thermally improved window for churches. He holds an associate’s degree, a bachelor’s degree in business management and has begun work toward his master’s of business administration. He also holds multiple computer training and supervision and management certificates in areas including principles of lean manufacturing, ISO process audit training, ergonomics and Six Sigma. Irish Rubright has been promoted as a new key accounts representative. Rubright has been with the company for eight years as a customer service representative. In her new role, she will manage all customer service processes between corporate and key accounts in coordination with national sales managers and regional sales representatives. Rubright is a certified ISO auditor and has co-chaired the Lauren Skin Savers Relay for Life team for the past three years. new hires In addition, Joe Kuppler has been named sales engineer for Ultra. In this role he will assist in product design and sales coverage on the East Coast. He brings to the company eight years of experience in casement design and testing.
