Micro Glass™ is made from a composition of molten glass liquefied at a temperature of 1500°C, then sintered and annealed before being polished into a panel that is 99-percent pure. And unlike stone, Micro Glass is a solid material so it can be used in both interior and exterior applications. Available colors include natural stone, purples, blues, greens and translucent sheets.

Whatever look and feel you’re going for, Moodglass® panels, the latest launch from Schott’s Advanced Materials division, may be just the ticket. The line features AMIRAN® anti-reflective glass inset with decorative fabrics from German fabric designer Jab Anstoetz. The fabrics were created for use with the anti-reflective glass so the glass seems to disappear, highlighting the aesthetics and texture of the fabric. The panels can be used in applications such as partitions and wall coverings and also provide UV protection.

When it comes to architectural design, the genuine look of cast glass is available without the high price tag from Jancik Arts International (JAI). The Atlanta-based company has introduced a technique for creating faux casted glass that Angelique Jackson, the company’s chief designer, says “is brought to life by using edged lighting, which causes the design to radiate from within.”Faux casted glass is designed for use in interior applications; designs can be custom-crafted for specific requirements.
