SimonsVoss Allows for Switch and Lock
The new digital mortise cylinder from SimonsVoss Technologies in Franklin,
Wis., puts electronic access control into the mortise cylinder. Now
users can remove the mechanical mortise cylinder from an authorized Adams
Rite aluminum storefront lock or Schlage L-Series mortise lock and replace
it with a digital cylinder. This gives the end-user control over who has
access and when they have access—information that can be tracked for later
reference.
The lock is wireless, requiring no external power supplies. Similar solutions
are available for cylindrical and mortise locks. Each lock supports up
to 8,000 users.

K2™ Introduces First SmartKey®-Enabled Products
K2 Commercial Hardware (K2) by Black & Decker has debuted its first
SmartKey-enabled products for the commercial builder market. In three
simple steps, users have the flexibility to re-key their own locks quickly
and easily without the need to remove the lock from the door. It is available
in K2’s line of deadbolts, interconnect levers and key control deadbolts.
SmartKey-enabled products feature a patented side-locking bar technology.
This locking system allows users the flexibility to quickly match all
the entry points to one key.
The SmartKey-enabled deadbolt features ANSI Grade 2 certification and
passes the most stringent lock picking standard, UL 437. This eliminates
the typical sheer line, pins and tumbler mechanisms in its design, removing
the most vulnerable points within lock design. The K2 SmartKey deadbolts
