Al Gore to Keynote Greenbuild
Former vice president Al Gore will serve as the opening
keynote speaker for the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) annual Greenbuild
International Conference & Expo, November 11-13, 2009, in Phoenix.
His keynote address will kick off the event November 11 at Chase Field.
The evening celebration will also feature a musical performance by nine-time
Grammy winner
Sheryl Crow and an address from Rick Fedrizzi, USGBC president, chief
executive officer and founding chair.
Greenbuild 2009 will also feature more than 100 educational sessions,
LEED and Education Provider workshops, off-site educational sessions,
a two-day Residential Summit, the World Green Building Council International
Congress and tours of local green building sites throughout the Arizona
area. Exhibitors at more than 1,700 booths will showcase some of the leading
technologies and products in green design, construction and operations.

2010 Fenestration Day Event Gains Industry Support
The first-ever Fenestration Day, to be held March 16 in Schaumburg, Ill.,
during Glass Expo Midwest, co-sponsored by USGlass Magazine, continues
to gain the support of the industry.
PPG Industries is sponsoring a session called “DOE to Reveal Latest Updates,”
given by Marc LaFrance of the Department of Energy.
WTS Paradigm will sponsor the session, “How Window Manufacturers Can Overcome
the Challenges of Today’s Market,” given by Michael Collins, vice president
of the Building Products Group at Jordan, Knauff and Co., also a columnist
and blogger for USGlass sister publication DWM.
Truseal Technologies will sponsor a panel discussion, “Specific Steps
to Take Toward Being Green.” Speakers include representatives from Northeast
Building Products and BF Rich.
