Good Things Come in Threes
Three Great Events are Scheduled
for March
by Ashley Charest
For the third year in a row the Glass Association of North America (GANA)
will be holding its Glass Week and Building Envelope Contractors (BEC)
Conference in conjunction with each other at the Paris Las Vegas Casino
and Resort. However, one change attendees will notice this year is the
time of year for the event. Although typically held in mid-February, in
2010 the events will take place at the end of March. Glass Week will be
held March 25-28, 2010, and the BEC Conference March 28-30, 2010.
But that’s not all; in addition to these two great events, a third conference
will be held at almost the exact same time, in the same location. The
Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance’s (IGMA) 10th Annual General Meeting
will be held March 24-26, 2010, in conjunction with Glass Week and the
BEC Conference.
The co-location of these three leading industry events will allow industry
members the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational forums
and technical meetings, as well as a tremendous chance to network with
peers and customers in the glass manufacturing, fabrication and contract
glazing industries.

These events will be packed full of quality information and educational
sessions that make them a must-attend for anyone in the architectural
glass community. Glass Week will feature strong division and committee
meetings, focusing time on reviewing technical resources, looking at updates
to ASTM International standards, up-to-date technical presentations on
new technologies. In addition, the scheduled general session will be chock-full
of economic and business speakers. The BEC Conference will continue to
provide a solid day and a half full of speakers that discuss the newest
glass and glazing trends and hot topics such as green building, in addition
to providing essential information from a general business perspective
for contract glaziers.
Ready to Register
Something new also is coming for attendees ready to register. Both GANA
and IGMA are working together to provide discounts to each others’ events,
while also providing à la carte registration to GANA events, such
as the Friday formal dinner, the Sunday joint Glass Week-BEC Conference
welcome reception and the Sunday Glass Week general session. These various
registration options will allow attendees to craft the perfect registration
for them, while also allowing for flexibility in travel for the conferences.
Registration will open in October on the following websites:
• for Glass Week at www.glassweek.com;
• for the BEC Conference at www.becconference.com;
and
• for IGMA at www.igmaonline.org.
