Guardian to Build Second Float Glass Plant
in Russia
Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Guardian Industries Corp. has announced
plans to build a float glass manufacturing plant in Krasny Sulin, Russia.
The company says the $220 million plant will be its largest, producing
900 tons of glass per day, and will include a technologically advanced
glass coater.
The Rostov plant will produce Guardian’s high-performance, energy-efficient
SunGuard® and ClimaGuard® glass products. The plant is expected
to begin operation in mid-2012, based on fulfillment of all incentives
and agreements with local authorities, and will initially create 300 new
jobs.
Located 594 miles from Moscow along the Azov Sea, Rostov has sufficient
natural resources, a large workforce and a well-developed transportation
infrastructure.

Fenzi Launches Production of Butylver in China
The Fenzi Group announced that its new production line for polyisobutylene-based
sealant (PIB), Butylver, inaugurated at the end of October 2010, is now
in full swing. Fenzi China Paints and Sealants Co. Ltd., the group’s Chinese
facility, which opened in June 2006, embarked on an expansion project
in early 2010, adding 14,000 square meters, to house production of Tempver
and Butylver, and provide greater warehouse capacity.
