PPG Introduces Online Design and Spec Binder
PPG Industries has launched its architectural glass binder in a digital, downloadable format at www.ppgglassbinder.com.

The binder includes all of the materials needed to specify or design with PPG glass, according to Glenn Miner, director of construction, flat glass.

“For decades, PPG has devoted a significant portion of its research and development capability to engineering products that support green building and design,” says Miner. “By launching this digital glass specification binder, we are putting those principles into practice by foregoing all the energy, ink and paper use associated with printing, and by providing architects with an online tool that is always up-to-date and is available anywhere they can access the Internet through a computer or mobile device.”

In addition to data sheets, product catalogs and performance data for popular PPG products such as Solarban®, Starphire® and Sungate® glasses, the online binder contains technical documents, details for thermal stress and wind load analyses and complete product specifications.

EnduroShield Coating Awarded TÜV Certification
PCT Global LLC in Santa Barbara, Calif., has announced that its EnduroShield protective coating has been awarded certification from TÜV Rheinland Germany, a global independent test provider, for durability and easy-to-clean functionality. The durability test was carried out to simulate a 10-year lifetime on interior and exterior use. The product has passed extensive testing carried out by TÜV Rheinland Group, including safety and quality testing.

Utilizing nanotechnology to achieve a durable protective coating, EnduroShield is a clear liquid that is sprayed on glass using either a hand held spray gun or automated machine. The coating is suitable for glass surfaces such as shower doors, insulating glass units, curtainwall, glass railings and solar panels. The EnduroShield coating is provided with a 10 year limited warranty and does not require the use of specialist aftercare products to maintain performance.
