Guardian and Soladigm to Market Soladigm Dynamic Glass
Guardian Industries of Auburn Hills, Mich., and Soladigm of Milpitas, Calif., have announced that they will market and sell Soladigm’s dynamic glass in the commercial buildings sector.

“Dynamically tinting architectural glass will substantially enhance building energy efficiency and occupant comfort,” says Scott Thomsen, Guardian Glass Group president. “We have been carefully evaluating the landscape for the right technology that is ready for scale and widespread adoption. We have been impressed by Soladigm’s unique approach and the rapid progress they have made in bringing dynamic glass technology to the industry.”

“Guardian’s extensive sales and distribution channels will provide rapid growth for Soladigm’s dynamic glass product on a global scale,” adds Rao Mulpuri, Soladigm CEO.

Guardian officials say they plan to incorporate Soladigm’s dynamic glass product into the company’s SunGuard architectural glass offerings with the introduction of a SunGuard EC product line. Guardian SunGuard also will integrate the new product into its “Build with Light” marketing program. “We’re working to develop a complete solution for glaziers,” said Chris Dolan, director of commercial glass products for Guardian during the recent American Institute of Architects’ Convention and Design Expo (see related story on page 38).

Guardian also recently announced a deal with Pythagoras Solar by which the two companies are working together to manufacture and market SunGuard photovoltaic glass units for commercial buildings.
