Energized and Educated
GANA 2014 Annual Conference Focuses on Energy, Education and More
Packed with valuable educational presentations, technical and division working sessions, and great networking events, the Glass Association of North America’s (GANA) Annual Conference is set to take place February 4-7, 2014, at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista in Orlando, Fla. Condensed to a three-day event, the Annual Conference will once again open with “Energy Day.” Themed “People-Friendly Buildings vs. Energy-Efficient Buildings: Why Not Choose Both?” Energy Day will include five varied presentations, on topics including:
• European Design Perspectives;
At the end of the day a 45-minute panel discussion will take place with the speakers, allowing the audience to ask questions, while the moderator will fill-in with questions texted in by the audience all day.
The next two days are filled with division and committee meetings, continuing the vital work that GANA is known for in the glass and glazing industry. Each division meeting will offer technical and educational sessions along with task group, subcommittee and committee meetings.
Time to Relax
But it wouldn’t be a meeting without some fun, too. The Annual Conference will include a number of social and networking events allowing attendees an opportunity to enjoy some time away from the office. The event opens with a special Pirates of the Caribbean® reception, featuring rum tasting, pirate fare and perhaps a walk on the plank as Disney character pirates will also be on hand.
Shift from pirates to awards and praise for the next reception. The inaugural GANA Members-of-the-Year awards will be presented to division members who go above and beyond in representing their industry through association work, along with the start of a year-long celebration of GANA’s 20th anniversary.
