Film in the News Window film is a popular item among consumers and, as such, stories about it pop up almost every day in newspapers across the world. The Window Film staff has compiled a few on this page that we found interesting. To submit articles that you see in consumer publications or your own hometown press, please e-mail a link to the story to dvass@glass.com or mail a copy of the article to Attn: Window Film magazine, P.O. Box 569, Garrisonville, VA 22463. Tint Tops List of Australia’s Best Architecture According to an article from Infolink Architecture & Building, 1,000 architects, photographers, academics and architectural commentators from across Australia were asked to nominate five pieces of architecture produced in this country to celebrate the magazine’s 100th issue. A home featuring a larger-than-life close-up of Pamela Anderson face ranked number 41 on the top-100 list. Another home with a digitally printed fade made the list at number 79. The home features an image on film of the historic home previously located in that spot on its front facade. Tint Design conducted work on other buildings on the list, including Federation Square (number 2) and the Melbourne Cricket Ground (number 19). Film Deadens Distraction The distraction may have ended, but the trouble continued when 100 members of the YMCA signed a petition against the tint job. According to the report, the petitioners defended their exercise clothes and argued that their exercise was made more difficult with the limited light. The four tinted windows have since been replaced with clear glass. VISTA® Searches for North America’s Hottest Spots The four “hottest” submissions, which were slated to be announced on June 21, will win free professionally installed VISTA solar control window film, up to a $1,000 value. The contestant with the best entry will also win a trip for two to Las Vegas. The company is publicizing the contest via various news and press release outlets, such as the CNW Group. www.hottestroom.com
