Performance Tools, based out of Plain City, Ohio has released a new “shank” tucking tool with an offset installation tip for reaching behind gaskets while keeping your hands out of the way. The 7-inch tool is made of lightweight, but durable plastic and will fit nicely into Performance Tools’ 13-pocket apron. With a quick release snap buckle system, the ED-5706 13 pocket apron has room for a variety of tools.

The ATR Adhesive Solution for window film removal is a patent-pending solution that allows tinters to avoid aggressive cleaning and the possibility of scratching. The product includes no alcohol or ammonia and one bottle of the solution can service an average of 36 cars. The company says that using the solution to aid in the removal of film can reduce the time needed to do a removal by up to 50 percent.

Revisiting Retrofitting
Solar Gard® window film has released a new architectural film for retrofitting existing windows. According to the company, the Silver AG 50 low-E window film reflects 63 percent of interior heat back into a room and reflects solar energy on the exterior, making it valuable in multiple seasons. The film also still allows for natural light to enter the room while still providing nearly two-thirds more UV protection than low-E windows.

Silver Lining
SunTek® Window Films has released Silver Exterior 20 (SXT 20), a new film in its architectural line. According to the company, the silver film was designed to help buildings obtain higher levels of energy efficiency and minimize heat with 82 percent blockage. The film is scratch-resistant and features a pressure-sensitive adhesive.
