Tulsa, Okla.-based Tristar Glass Inc. announced it plans to open a new fabrication facility in Houston by the first quarter of 2015.
According to the company, the new facility will feature a Glaston FC500 furnace with a bed load size of 130-by-240 inches. According to the release, the furnace will be the largest of its kind in the United States and will feature convection technology designed to meet stringent quality demands for the architectural commercial markets.
The new plant, which is Tristar’s third, will be equipped with an automated jumbo cutting system and an automated vertical insulating glass system, along with other fabrication equipment. Tristar expanded into Texas in 2012 with the opening of its Grand Prarie plant.
