Greco to Install Railing Systems for the Hub at Madison

Greco Aluminum Railings, a manufacturer of fully welded aluminum railings, will install the railing systems for the newest luxury housing and retail building in Madison, Wis.—the Hub at Madison.

Chicago-based Antunovich Associate Architects will design the 500,000-square-foot structure, which will include retail spaces along State Street and a 12-story step-back with luxury apartment housing. The façade design is modern looking with steel elements, and according to Greco, the railing system was a key element in achieving the desired look and feel of the project.

“We are pleased to be awarded this project as we worked closely with [glazier] J. H. Findorff [& Son, Inc.] in achieving the railing design that works with the architectural elements of the building,” says Jim Ellsworth, president, Greco’s U.S. Operations. “This is the third such ‘HUB’ project that Greco has been involved with this past year.”

Greco designed and engineered a custom railing system for the project, which includes more than 4,000 lineal feet of 42-inch glass railing and 72-inch privacy dividers.

Congratulations on being awarded this project. I’m sure the railing system that you manufacture will turn out great, along with the rest of the project.

I think that this railing will definitely help the building to look really great. However, I also think that it will help for safety reasons, just in case kids are high up and are by themselves. Having railings can be really functional but still beautiful at the same time, which I think is great. It might be interesting to look into this more to see if I should get new railings on my home to help it look better. I would especially like to look into getting a modern design, like you discuss, so that it helps add to the overall look of my house. Thank you for sharing more about this project!
