CGI to Fund Scholarships for Future Architects

CGI Windows & Doors of Miami has created a $2,500 fund that will pay for two to three scholarships for the Department of Architecture at the Florida International University College of Architecture + the Arts (CARTA).

The scholarships will go to students who do outstanding work and show dedication to their education. They’ll also be awarded to students who win CARTA’s annual Walk on Water competition, in which participants design specialized shoes that can carry them across a lake on the school’s Miami campus.

“We believe in helping to build the architecture community by supporting it from within,” says Steven E. Dawson, vice president and general manager of CGI Windows & Doors. “Building a foundation of strong architecture students will greatly serve our community in the years to come. It’s our pleasure to get more involved with the forward-thinking programs at FIU.”

“It is with the help of partners such as CGI Windows & Doors that CARTA can continue to create, innovate, and inspire solutions to social, economic, and environmental issues,” adds Brian Schriner, dean of FIU’s College of Architecture + The Arts. ”The impact of these scholarships is critical to our students’ future success in this field.”
