AEC Announces New Board of Directors

The results of the annual election of officers and directors of the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) were announced at the 66th Annual Meeting & Leadership Conference last month in Palm Desert, Calif.

Martin Bidwell, CEO of Magnode Corp. in Trenton, Ohio, was elected to serve a one-year term as chair of the AEC.  Rick Merluzzi, CEO of Pennex Aluminum Co. in Wellsville, Pa., was elected as immediate past chair. Rand Baldwin was re-elected to the non-voting position as president. Matt McMahon, president of Pries Enterprises Inc. in Independence, Iowa, will remain on the board as vice chair for one year.

Three new members of the board were elected. Shayne Seever, vice president of administration for Sierra Aluminum in Riverside, Calif., was newly elected as an extruder director. Bonnie Cartwright, president of EXCO Extrusion Tooling Solutions in Markham, Ontario, Canada, was newly elected as supplier director, and Eric Pitz, product director for Billets North America for Rio Tinto Alcan in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, was elected as an at-large member of the board of directors.

Re-elected as extruder directors were R. Scott Kelly, president and CEO of Service Center Metals in Prince George, Va., and Scott Condreay, senior manufacturing engineer for Sapa Extrusions North America in Portland, Ore. Re-elected as producer director was Tom Leary, marketing director for Alcoa Primary Metals in Knoxville, Tenn.

Those remaining on the board include extruder directors Spencer Burt, human resources manager for Futura Industries in Clearfield, Utah; Charles McEvoy, executive vice president of Western Extrusions Corp. in Dallas; and Mike Flynn, president of APEL Extrusions Limited in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
