SoftTech and ContractERP are just two of the many software companies exhibiting at this year’s GlassBuild.
As each month goes by, the glass and glazing industry is able to say with increased confidence that “there’s an app for that.”
While manufacturers are regularly releasing new applications for mobile devices, software companies that work within the industry continue to develop new programs to help businesses get the job done on the road.
Many of those companies are highlighting their products this week at GlassBuild America, an annual industry trade show being held in Atlanta this week.
Kimzey software is exhibiting GlassTrax, its glass fabrication software product.
Glasstrax’s Tyson Oldroyd says that the company’s online interface has undergone some new developments, but the newest thing it is showing is its mobile app.
He says there has been a lot of interest in GlassTrax Mobile, which the company began developing just a month and a half ago. The app allows sales reps to see nearby customers and open quotes with Google Maps navigation, view order history for clients and call or email contacts directly from the program.
Mainstreet is also introducing a similar product, its new mobile app for flat glass called MobilePro.
Sales manager Mark Haeck says there is nothing else on the market like the app, as it allows technicians to sort through job locations, maintain a measure sheet, and take payments on the road.
Software companies in general have made their presence felt in Atlanta.
Softtech is another software company exhibiting at the show, featuring its quoting and design software for window and door companies, among other products. The company is sharing a booth with ContractERP, a business software company that is helping streamline the process for clients by working with Softtech.
Drew Meier of ContractERP says his company has been working with door and hardware companies for 25 years but has honed in on the window market, as well, over the past five years. ContractERP, in fact, recently signed an agreement with Crystal Windows and Door, a vinyl and aluminum window manufacturer.
Other software and related companies exhibiting include FeneTech, A+W Software, Building Envelope Software Technologies, Edgenet, Friedman Corp., GDS Storefront Estimating, GTS Services, Opera Company, Optima, Windowmaker Software and WTS Paradigm, among others.
