Lisec announced it has officially opened its new “Glass Forum,” a center for research, production and training in the field of processing of flat glass.

The new facility is located in Hausmening, Lower Austria, where the company invested approximately $5.69 million (5 million EUR). It houses technologies “from glass cutting and edge processing through to an elaborate glass logistics system and up to the production of insulating and laminated safety glass including tempering,” according to a release from Lisec.
In the Glass Forum, flat glass is processed under real-life production conditions. With its production lines and software applications, the facility is used for research, testing, training and demonstration purposes.
Lisec also has planned investments worth $18.19 million (16 million EUR) at its production site in Seitenstetten over the next three years.
“We have committed ourselves to the location of Lower Austria, and this on a long-term basis,” says CEO Othmar Sailer.
