Dr. Frank Heinricht, board chairman at Schott AG, was elected president of the Federal Association of the German Glass Industry (BV Glas) and will act as president of glasstec 2016.
The presidency of the trade show alternates every two years between BV Glas and the Federal Association of the German Glazing Trade. The two organizations are conceptual sponsors of glasstec, together with the German Engineering Federation. The event will take place September 20-23, 2016 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The focus of glasstec 2016 will be on free-form, ultra-thin and solid glass, as well as on glass used for information purposes. Other special thematic areas will be the Crafts Center with Craft Live, offering hands-on experience, the Glass and Façade Competence Center and the Glass Art exhibition. The ancillary program of glasstec 2016 will include special shows and conferences. The main highlight will be “glass technology live,” organized by Prof. Stefan Behling, a senior executive partner at Fosters & Partners, and his team from Institute of Construction Design at the University of Stuttgart in Germany.
