Solaria Expands Leadership, Advisory Council

Solaria Corp. appointed Scott Hoover vice president of sales, building solutions, North America. The company also added Scott Thomsen, co-founder of Innoscovery, and Emanuel Salmona, head of global business development in the building technologies division at Siemens, to its advisory council.

Hoover, an industry veteran previously with AGC and Pilkington, will work with building and construction partners to bring powered-by-Solaria building integrated photovoltaic solutions to market. Thomsen, former president of Guardian Glass, will provide insight in investing and advising clean technology companies, according to Solaria. As a consultant to early stage companies in smart energy, Salmona brings expertise in the technology, market drivers and new business opportunities for intelligent buildings.

“The building industry is in transition to integrated properties from static, isolated elements. Over the next decade, buildings will become integrated structures optimizing energy consumption, light, temperature, air quality, security, water, communications and operations,” says Thomsen. “Energy generation from solar, thermoelectric and energy harvesting technologies will play a key role in powering the integrated property. Solaria’s unique high-efficiency solar technology supports cost effective options for building property energy generation.”
