For the first time in its history, Architects’ Forum™ is bringing glass industry education to the Pacific Northwest. Guardian Industries Corp. will serve as a Platinum Sponsor for the upcoming Architects’ Forum™ 2016, taking place June 2 in Bellevue, Wash. (suburban Seattle) at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue. The event is sponsored and organized by the Architect’s Guide to Glass & Metal magazine.
As part of its sponsorship, the company will present its AIA-accredited program titled “The Evolution of Glass & High Performance Coatings.” Bill Coady, architectural design manager-Northwest Region, for Guardian Industries Corp., will lead the course discussion, which will explore the types of questions that should be asked and answered during the design process when making glass selections. Among the areas covered, the course will explain through slides and video how float glass and low-E coated glass are produced and discuss the differences between product types and applications.
Coady has been with Guardian since 2005 and is an active member of the Puget Sound (past president), Mt. Rainier, and Portland chapters of the Construction Specifications Institute, the Washington Glass Association (past president), and the Seattle Building Envelope Council. He has conducted AIA accredited seminars for several hundred firms throughout Alaska, Washington, Oregon, British Columbia, Alberta, Idaho, Nevada, and California. In addition to speaking to individual architectural firms he has given seminars and technical talks for many industry organizations including a number of CSI chapters, AIA Spokane, the Washington Glass Association, the Glazing Contractors Association of British Columbia, the Canadian Glass Association, and many others.
In addition to the presentations, Architects’ Forum™ 2016 will provide attendees with a number of other educational and networking opportunities. These include free admission into the Glass Expo Pacific Northwest™ trade show, as well as lunch, coffee breaks and informative tabletop displays provided by event sponsors.
