Michigan-based contract glazier Vos Glass announced it will transition its ownership from Linda Vos-Graham to David Turner. Vos-Graham has been the owner and president since 2001 and has spent 33 years with the company.
Turner had been with Kent Companies for 25 years, where he retired as president. He has served on several boards and industry trade associations including the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Michigan.
According to a release from the company, Vos-Graham will serve on its advisory board along with her husband, Ken Graham, who was Vos Glass’ vice president. Brian Potter, president of Architectural Metals Inc. (AMI), will join Turner as a strategic owner/partner of Vos Glass and will serve as a board director.
“This is the next step working together on the exterior shell or envelope of buildings,” says Potter. “We want to further align our businesses to better serve architects, owners, construction managers and general contractors through a comprehensive effort that is unmatched in our industry.”
Vos Glass and AMI have collaborated on many projects in the past and have jointly secured several jobs for 2016 and 2017.
“My focus has been, and continues to be, on building an enduring organization,” said Vos-Graham. “One that continues the level of craftsmanship, integrity, innovation and pride that my parents started in 1982 when they founded Vos Glass. The new, ambitious and talented leadership team will continue to provide opportunities for all of our employees and improve value for our customers.”
Three long-time employees have been named to new roles: Tim Audretsch, vice president construction, Terry Myers, vice president retail and Denise Volpe, controller.
“Vos Glass will continue to be a ‘family’ business with several sets of brothers, cousins and father-son teams,” the release reads. Turner’s son, John, will join the team to lead business development. He has grown up in the construction industry and has worked in various sales and business development roles for the past several years.
