Mic Patterson joined Schüco USA as its new director of strategic business development.
Patterson has concentrated his professional and academic career on advanced façade technology, structural glass façades and green building practices. Previously, he was among the founding group of the Advanced Technology Studio of Enclos, where he worked as the vice president of strategic development. He is a co-founder and inaugural president of the Façade Tectonics Institute, and co-founder of the Façades+ conference series. He is on the scientific committees for GlassCon Global, PLEA and Façade Tectonics.
USGlass magazine has twice named Patterson among the “Industry’s Most Influential.” He has taught, written extensively, and lectured internationally on diverse aspects of advanced façade technology. He is the author of “Structural Glass Façades and Enclosures.”
In this new role with Schüco, Patterson will expand the firm’s network of fabricators and installers in North America. He will also be involved in establishing the Virtual Construction Lab (VCL), a Schüco studio that will provide design-assist services to this same network. VCL services will include façade analysis, simulations, rapid prototyping, digital workflows and advanced visualization processes.
“We are very excited to have Mic Patterson onboard,” says Attila Arian, president of Schüco USA. “Mic is an experienced professional and recognized industry leader, and will be instrumental in increasing Schüco’s market share in the U.S. and Canada.”
