Huntington, N.Y., Featured in Four Famous Films

Huntington, N.Y., has a rich history serving as a backdrop in major film productions. While attending Glass Expo Northeast™ (GENE), consider that the locale served in scenes from Oscar-winning Citizen Kane, comedies Fletch Lives and Sisters, as well as paranormal thriller The Others.

Oheka Castle played a key part in Citizen Kane serving as the main character’s infamous estate, Xanadu, according to the Long Island Press.

Newsday, a Melville, N.Y., based company, was the location for the fictional newspaper in Chevy Chase’s comedic vehicle Fletch Lives.

In Sisters, a salon in Huntington was captured on camera as part of the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler comedy.

And finally, the Oheka Castle also lent its ambiance to The Others, a gothic thriller starring Nicole Kidman.

Glass Expo Northeast™ will be held at the Hilton Long Island/Huntington Hotel in Huntington, N.Y., March 30-31, 2017. The event, which is co-sponsored by the Long Island Glass Association, USGlass magazine, Architects’ Guide to Glass & Metal and USGNN.com™, gathers the top suppliers in the industry, expert speakers and beneficial business practices in one location at an affordable price.

Interested GENE attendees can pre-register online for discounted prices until March 13, 2017.

Members of the Long Island Glass Association and subscribers of USGlass and Architects’ Guide to Glass & Metal who register by March 13, will receive a free attendee registration (a $99 value) (this offer does extend to all employees of your company but is not valid for industry suppliers).

Visit www.usglassmag.com/gene to pre-register and to book a room early with the host hotel as they tend to sell out quickly.

May this city of intrigue bring you one event you won’t forget.
