Northern Virginia Glass and Mirror Business to Expand

Dulles Glass and Mirror will invest $7.5 million to consolidate its corporate headquarters, research and development, manufacturing and warehouse operations in a renovated 84,010-square-foot facility in Manassas, Va.

The privately held company, founded in 1972, manufactures glass, mirror and shower doors for commercial and residential applications. It plans to retain its 96 employees and create 40 new jobs over the next five years, according to a release.

“Our workforce is the core of our operation and allows us to achieve our goal,” says Dr. Bahram Nasehi, vice president of operations and CFO of Dulles Glass and Mirror.

The company delivers nationally and installs glass and mirror in Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. It also offers customizable glass and mirror products through its online store.

“It is always gratifying to see a Virginia-headquartered manufacturing company expand, further strengthening this critical sector,” Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe said in a statement. “The manufacturing industry continues to gain momentum across Virginia, with more than 240,000 employed in the sector, and small businesses like Dulles Glass and Mirror are contributing to that energy and the new Virginia economy.”

The company will receive a $100,000 grant through the Economic Development Opportunity Fund (EDOF) to put toward building renovations and new equipment purchases. It is also being supported by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP). The program provides consultative services and funding to companies creating new jobs or experiencing technological change to support employee training activities, according to the governor’s office.
