Tomorrow: GENE Brings Education and Networking Opportunities to Long Island

Glass Expo Northeast™ (GENE) ’19 is headed to Uniondale, N.Y., tomorrow for two days of educational seminars and networking opportunities on the trade show floor. The event runs from March 27-28 at the Long Island Marriott.

Registration

Registration will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 28. Those who have not yet registered may do so onsite.

Seminars

Glass Expo Northeast includes a long line-up of seminars on both Wednesday and Thursday. The educational program runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 8 to 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Tomorrow, the show opens with a welcome from USGlass magazine publisher Debra Levy. She will be followed by Nick St. Denis, director of research for Key Media & Research, parent company of USGlass magazine. In his “Northeast Economic Update,” St. Denis will provide a forecast of what the Tri-State region can expect in commercial and residential building, glass and metal usage, and what to anticipate as a result of market shifts.

From 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., Greg Galloway, ProTek brand manager for YKK AP America Inc., will help attendees recognize the advantages and disadvantage of stick built, unitized and hybrid systems during his seminar, “The Growing Importance of Unitized Systems (1 AIA HSW LU).”

Other seminars will focus on hurricane code considerations, finding quality workers in the glass industry, C-suite changes coming in the contract glazing industry, the ABC’s of business, trends in the glass and glazing industry and unique vulnerabilities of glass on the jobsite. Keynote

From 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, attendees can gain valuable insights into body language from expert Janine Driver during her keynote speech “You Say More Than You Think.” Driver is a popular media guest, with appearances on shows including The Dr. Oz Show, Anderson Cooper, NBC’s TODAY and Weekend TODAY, FOX News and CNN’s Larry King Live.

Trade Show Floor

The trade show floor will feature more than 100 exhibitors for attendees to visit and learn about companies’ latest products and services. To view the full list of exhibitors, click here. The show floor will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday. A welcoming cocktail party will be held on the floor from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
