The board of directors of the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) has elected a new team of corporate officers to lead the executive committee in 2020. The leadership includes:
- Chair: John Gordon, National Certified Testing Laboratories – He has been involved with NFRC for four years, during which he participated as the CPD Task Group chair, multiple work and task groups. He is a certified simulator and has a background in information technology. He joined the board in 2018.
- Vice chair: Anthony Cinnamon, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc. – Since 1995, Cinnamon has worked in inspections and investigations of building facades, exterior wall systems and fenestration systems. His work covers high-rise residential and office buildings, institutions, sports arenas and historic structures. He joined the board in 2019.
- Secretary: Ravi Srinivasan, University of Florida – Srinivasan serves on the ANS Standards Committee and is a tenured associate professor of low/net zero energy buildings at the M.E. Rinker School of Construction Management at the University of Florida. He’s contributed to more than 75 technical articles in building energy and environmental sustainability.
- Treasurer: Greg McKenna, Kawneer –McKenna has more than three decades of experience in the fenestration and commercial building products industry. He has seven patents that directly relate to thermal efficiency and daylighting improvements for products used in the building envelope. He is a professional engineer and a certified fenestration master.
The new corporate officers begin their terms immediately and were elected at a board retreat on January 30 in Tucson, Ariz. The NFRC board provides the direction, vision and strategic planning for NFRC and assures that programs and policies are in place to meet the organization’s mission.
“We have a dynamic, experienced group of professionals leading our board this year,” says CEO Deb Callahan. “These new officers will help NFRC lead the way in advancing energy efficiency in residential and commercial buildings. I’m extremely excited to work with them as they help NFRC build a sustainable future.”
Newly elected board chairperson John Gordon said he is honored to be chosen from among his peers to lead the board. As a simulation and thermal operations manager at National Certified Testing Laboratories Inc., Gordon has worked closely with NFRC program staff.
“I value the diverse group of opinions on the board and in the leadership. I’m looking forward to having open discussions that lead to a consensus in the best interest of the organization,” he says. “I’d also like to encourage more NFRC members to get involved on the various committees, subcommittees and task groups. We’re an organization that relies on our membership and staff for the technical foundations of our programs that help consumers make an educated buying decision on fenestration products.”
