Mergers & Acquisitions

Coral Industries Acquired by CRH’s Americas Products Division

CRH’s Americas Products Division has acquired privately-held Coral Industries Inc. Coral fabricates framed and semi-frameless glass shower enclosures, custom frameless glass shower doors and architectural glass and aluminum products. CRH also runs Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® and C.R. Laurence, among others.

“Coral Industries is a well-run, family company that has built a strong reputation for quality products and incredible customer service. Our acquisition of Coral demonstrates our renewed focus on growth in our glass fabrication and architectural aluminum products businesses,” says Nathan Creech, president of Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope®, a CRH Company.

Coral will operate independently, as a CRH company, led by its existing management team with the exception of Coral’s founder and CEO Mac McAllister, and longtime president Al Askew, who are both retiring after the transaction is completed. The remaining members of the management team, including Grant and Lewis McAllister, will continue to lead the business.

“As a leader in building products, CRH is an ideal partner for Coral,” says Grant McAllister, Coral executive vice president. “As we started to look for ways to grow our business while continuing to provide our customers with best-in-class service, it became very clear that CRH and Coral shared similar values.”

“We could not be more pleased to be joining the CRH family. Personally, I am very much looking forward to being part of CRH to benefit from product, market and operational opportunities that will allow us to better serve our customers. It is a very exciting time for our business,” adds Lewis McAllister, Coral executive vice president.

Laser Products Announces New Business for Fabricators

Laser Products Industries (LPI) has finalized the acquisition of Precision Templates of Colorado and has formed a new separate company, Precision Measuring and Training (PMT), headquartered in Denver.

PMT will initially serve the Denver market and will offer digital laser templating, CAD work, training and tool measuring to fabricators in a number of markets, including the glass industry. The new company has offered positions to all former Precision Templates employees.

“PMT was formed to provide a unique set of services for the issues that today’s fabricators are facing,” says Rich Katzmann, president, Laser Products.

“When [Katzmann] and I first talked, I saw the immediate benefit of the PMT business model for fabricators,” says Marc Sleight, vice president. “The Laser Products system is the only solution we trust that allows us to achieve our promise of accuracy and process customization. There’s no more down time, no expensive investments, and no more impossible scheduling problems. PMT is fully flexible and can customize our services to the fabricator’s specific needs regardless of type of job, material, location, or process.”
