Abbas Glass Group in the UAE Buys New Mappi Tempering Furnace

Italian machinery supplier Mappi has closed a deal for an ATS 4.0 Series 2500 x 5000 mm tempering furnace with Abbas Glass Group, a service provider for aluminum and glass works, glass tempering, edge work and insulating glass based in Dubai. Abbas will receive the delivery at the end of summer 2018.

The ATS 4.0 is equipped with the latest GHBS Extreme convection and will help the company handle large orders.The order is valued at approximately $1.2 million (EUR 1 million). Mappi closed 2017 with its highest sales volume, and expects to exceed that this year during its 25th anniversary.

Structura UK of London is now the official distributor of Kalwall products throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. The company assumed that status after reaching an agreement to distribute Kalwall in Scotland. Structura was already their UK distributor in England, Northern Ireland and Wales.

“Structura has been a great partner for us over the years, so adding Scotland to their distribution makes perfect sense,” says Kalwall principal Amelia Keller. 

Glaston Sells Tempering Furnace to Czech Company

Czech company AGC Processing Teplice, a member of the AGC Glass Group, has purchased an FC Series tempering furnace from Glaston. The order, valued at approximately $1.85 million (EUR 1.5 million), will be delivered the end of summer 2018.

“The renewed FC tempering line is the choice for customers looking for higher performance and state-of-the art optical quality of the end product. A standard feature is the Glaston Insight service platform, which enables real-time monitoring of the production,” says Pekka Hytti, senior vice president of EMEA at Glaston.

“With the FC Series we are replacing the oldest furnace and it will allow us to enlarge our excellent service with top grade products in AGC Processing Teplice,” says Petr Mazzolini, regional director of Processed Glass CE.
