GlassCon Global Brings Glass Education to Chicago
GlassCon Global, a biennial industry event created to drive innovation in glass technology, will take place September 5-7, 2018 at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza in Chicago. The event focuses on technical presentations and networking for architects, engineers, specifiers, owners, contractors, manufactures, suppliers and more. It is organized by FCA Conferences.
“We are very excited for the return of GlassCon Global. The event has accomplished much in a short time, and is a must-attend event in the glass industry. We can’t wait for September to help further drive innovation in glass technology,” says Anthony Darkangelo, executive director of GlassCon Global.
Anirban Basu, CEO of Sage Policy Consulting Group will provide insights into the global economy and how it impacts the glass industry. His presentation will explore global, national and regional economies, including the performance of labor, financial, and real estate markets.
At the last event in 2016, attendees identified the need to incorporate glass education into the materials and methods courses typically associated with a professional architecture curriculum and set a plan to have it accomplished by GlassCon Global 2018.
Doug Noble, director of the graduate building science and Ph.D. programs at the University of Southern California, will present a set of curricular materials de-signed to help professors incorporate a week of glass education into their standard courses.
