After 50+ Years, French Industry Consultant Savaëte Says Bonjour to his Retirement

Bernard Savaëte, industry consultant and founder of BJS.Différences, announced he has retired and closed his consulting business as of March 31, 2021. He has been a well-known speaker at many glass and glazing industry events, including Glass Performance Days, where he’s covered topics such as the world float glass industry in the 21st century.

Savaëte, 75, celebrated 50 years in the glass industry in 2019, beginning his career with Boussois-Souchon-Neuvesel (BSN), a French flat glass, container glass and fiberglass company. In 1982 he went to work for PPG. His final position there was director of quality for PPG Glass Europe. In 2004, Savaëte created BJS.Différences, a consulting company that creates market surveys focused on the global flat glass industry.

“I enjoyed very much, and still enjoy after so many years, working for the glass industry, where I have built good relationships with many people, which helped me to better discover and understand the world,” Savaëte told USGNN™ in 2019.

Savaëte says he will remain an observer of the glass world, which he calls an “outstanding field.”
