PROJECT OF THE MONTH
Glazing Helps Gillies Hall Achieve Passivhaus Certification
Gillies Hall student residence at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, is currently Australia’s largest certified Passivhaus building to be constructed with cross-laminated timber. Designed by Jackson Clements Burrows Architects, it features over 10,000 square feet of insulating glass from Saint-Gobain Glassolutions. In order to eliminate cold bridges around the edge of the glass efficiently, the Passivhaus-certified warm edge spacer bar Swisspacer Ultimate was used.
