An App for That
Hegla has created the Shop-Floor Assistant app to provide operating personnel with key information, helping to reduce processing times. The maintenance section of the app offers comprehensive options for simplifying and centralizing maintenance and service tasks. All documents and maintenance jobs can be fi led in the app, reducing handling time and making the information available anywhere via smartphone, tablet or an AR headset, according to the company.
The app’s PanePro section is designed for everyday tasks such as tracking production documents. If a lite is laser-marked or labeled, the operator can scan via smartphone to pinpoint it at any position in the production chain, query its progress or request a replacement in the event of damage.

Say You Want a Revolution
Deceuninck North America’s Revolution XL picture window achieved the North American Fenestration Standard/Specification’s (NASF) AW100 rating, meeting increased loading requirements and limits on deflection in buildings and where the frequent use of fenestration products is expected.
The window passed all the required performance and durability tests for the architectural window class, including structural performance under windloading and resistance to water penetration and air leakage. The company adds that an independent certified lab conducted all tests.
Revolution XL also scored for acoustic excellence in Sound Transmission Class (STC) testing. With only dual pane glass, the picture window achieved an STC rating of 43, and the tilt and turn window achieved an STC of 41.
High Performance Strength
Crystal Magnus Commercial uPVC vinyl doors and windows combine the structural performance of aluminum fenestration products with the thermal performance of vinyl. The windows are made for select highrise, multifamily, commercial, institutional and upscale residential properties.
The flagship Magnus 4500 is available in tilt-and-turn, hopper, casement and fixed styles. The operating window styles feature tight compression sealing frame and sash technology for energy efficiency, with glazing pockets that accommodate dual- and triple-pane insulating glass units. The Magnus 4500 windows can also yield thermal U-values as low as 0.20.
Railings and Balustrades
A Rail with a View
Viewrail has introduced the new Vedera glass railing system for use with Flight floating stairways. The Vedera system utilizes Viewrail’s tempered, low-iron Starphire glass and a hidden fastener.
According to the company, the glass railing system offers an unencumbered line of sight, with its proprietary hardware hidden behind end slices that integrate the glass directly with the treads. A round or square stainless steel cap rail or a square wood cap rail that matches the treads can be added on top of the glass to provide a handrail without requiring any posts for support.
The Flight floating stair system includes a choice of 15 wood species, any of which can be finished in virtually any color stain. Unfinished wood components are also available.

Fluted GlassOptics
Sedak has developed a fluted glass product that provides numerous design possibilities. In addition, the fluted glass can be fabricated into insulating glass or safety glass, for use in a variety of façade applications. The fluted glass grooves can be cut vertically, horizontally or diagonally, in V or C form and with a freely selectable distance between them. The glass can be tempered and is available in a maximum size of 3.6 by 20 meters.

How Do You Configurator?
AGC Glass North America has launched the new AGC Configurator, allowing selection, review and specification of the optimal glass solution for projects based on the customized specifications the user creates.
The new configurator provides users with the ability to create their own profile and preferences. Users then enter a “drag-and-drop, user-intuitive” site, which AGC says simplifies the specification process for glass products. As users review the solution recommendations, they can gather and synthesize granular details so they can specify the right product for the job. Once selections are made, users receive a detailed summary
on all the key metrics connected to a specific glass product: light management, energy efficiency, acoustical characteristics, and thermal performance, including a visualization of the selected product.
Site users can also create their own library of projects housed under their individual profile and then share those projects with their clients.
Additional improvements will be available soon, including rendering capabilities, acoustics calculators and advanced product finders.
