Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions, a division of Overhead Door Corporation (ODC), is celebrating its 100th anniversary. ODC began with the invention of the upward-acting, sectional garage door in 1921, followed by the development of the first electric garage door opener in 1926.
Horton Automatics became part of ODC in 1970. Since then, Horton has continued to grow, more recently through the acquisition of Won-Door.
“We are proud to be part of and contribute to such a storied organization. The great advancements we have made since joining ODC are a testament to the organization’s culture and willingness to invest in its brands,” said Kirk Brunson, president of Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions. “The entire team is excited to celebrate this centennial anniversary with our complete ODC family.”
Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions and the full ODC organization have employee and customer events planned throughout the year to commemorate the 100-day celebration involving locations across the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
The ODC centennial also marks Horton Automatics’ 61st anniversary since its founding in 1960.
