Press Glass To Open New Automated Factory In Lithuania

Press Glass, a flat glass processor based in Konopiska, Poland, is building an automated insulating glass production plant in Lithuania. The new plant at Kaunas Free Economic Zone is scheduled to begin production within the next two years, with a plan to recruit 240 specialists over the next three years, according to a press release. A focus of the plant will be the systemic approach to optimizing and automating the cutting area, managing automatic sorters, packaging optimization, and planning capacity.

One way the company will achieve this is through its partnership with A+W Software, a software provider for the flat glass and window industries.

There was a kick-off meeting in Szczecin in the first half of July where teams from both companies participated, beginning the commencement of the project, according to the press release.

The new facility in Lithuania will produce insulating glass units for Press Glass’ residential division.

“Press Glass’ decision to locate its new factory in Lithuania will significantly improve our ability to service clients from Scandinavia, the north of Poland and the Baltic states – optimising delivery times and transportation costs, as well as increasing the company’s overall production capacity across Europe,” says Tomasz John, CEO at Press Glass UAB.
